UPM Raflatac will announce the results of the new neuromarketing study on wines at the Pentawards Festival on November 9, 2023. Created in collaboration with partners in the label value chain, ARGEA, SenseCatch, Kurz, and Krämer Druck, the study examines the impact of the label material and finishes on consumers’ purchasing behaviour and their role in shaping perceptions of wine taste.

As the headline sponsor of the Pentawards Festival, UPM Raflatac will host a Flight Talk session to go over the key findings from the study and explain how companies can utilize neuromarketing when selecting the correct label material. The session starts at 1:30 PM (UTC).

“We are beyond excited to share the findings that will reshape the decision-making process across the wine value chain for design agencies and brands. Together with Dr. Giulia Songa, the CEO and founder of SenseCatch, we present the study conducted for ARGEA, focusing on their exquisite Asio Otus Chardonnay,” says Stefano Pistoni, senior business development manager at UPM Raflatac.

Plus, Dow and Circusil have announced a partnership to construct their first commercial scale silicone recycling plant in North America. This facility will recycle silicone waste streams from Dow’s US operations, as well as post-industrial waste streams from customers.

Operations are targeted to begin in fourth quarter of 2024.The strategic investment marks a substantial milestone in Dow’s silicone circularity journey and will allow the company to produce silicone polymers derived from silicone waste and end-of-life products originating from US operations.

The advanced recycling process that will be used at the new facility contributes to enhanced sustainability. In addition to achieving silicone recycling by closing the loop and ultimately reintroducing the recycled silicone product into silicone production, it also aims to reduce the overall carbon footprint. Recycled silicones exhibit a lower carbon footprint, compared to silicone manufactured from virgin material.
